Staff Correspondent: Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of benefactors in Qatar, distributed school supplies to more than 500 orphaned and poor students in Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka, said a press release today.
The students from different grades of `Markaz Mohammad bin Ajjaj al Kubaisi’ in Dhamrai Upazila received the learning kits that included school bags, uniforms, and stationery.
A team of Qatar Charity headed by Dr. Mohammad Amin Hafiz Omar, country director of QC, handed over the essential commodities to the children which received a lot of appreciation from the beneficiaries and the government authorities.
QC provides educational services to students in crisis-hit areas and underprivileged communities worldwide. It builds schools, orphan centers, and sponsors students by providing all the expenses of education.
Currently, QC sponsors 2,976 orphan children in Bangladesh, and 134 students are receiving scholarships for completing their higher education.
