Jahangirnagar University admission tests will be held in five units rather than 10, for the academic year 2021-22.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the JU Central Admission Management Committee yesterday (April 20,m 2022), said Md Abu Hasan, deputy registrar and member secretary of the committee, reports our JU correspondent.
“This year, the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the Institute of Information Technology have formed unit “A” unit; the Faculty of Sociology and the Faculty of Law in “B” unit; Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Department of Drama and Dramatics, Department of Fine Arts, and the Bangabandhu and Comparative Literary Culture Institute in the “C” unit; ‘D’ unit consists of the Faculty of Biology; and the Faculty of Business Education and the Institute of Information Technology formed the “E” unit,” said Hasan.
The cost of the admission form is yet to be determined. A decision will be made very soon on this, he added.
“Students, parents, and all those associated with the university suffered as a result of the long duration of the examination,” JU Vice Chancellor Prof Nurul Alam told The Daily Star.
“That is why, with the suffering in mind, such a decision was made,” he added.
The registration date for this year’s admission test is from May 18 to June 16, and as per the decision of the university admission management committee, the admission tests will be held from July 31 to August 11.
