The government has sent information and broadcasting secretary Md Mokbul Hossain to retirement.
The public administration ministry issued a gazette notification to the effect on Sunday as per the Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018, citing the public interest as the reason for retiring the bureaucrat before completion of his normal service tenure.
Mokbul, an administration cadre officer belonging to the 10th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service, was appointed as the information secretary in May 2021.
Mokbul joined the civil service in 1991 and was supposed to retire on October 31, 2013.
