Amidst much criticism, the Dhaka University authorities have decided to hold honours entry test for ‘Gha’ or ‘D Unit’ — under the social science faculty — only for 2021-2022 academic year.
The decision was made at a meeting of general admission committee this afternoon, Prof Abdul Bashir, Dean of Arts Faculty, told our DU correspondent.

“The deans’ committee’s recommendation to hold honours entry test for ‘Gha’ only for 2021-2022 academic year has been accepted in the meeting of general admission committee,” said Prof Abdul Bashir.
Earlier in the day, the DU deans’ committee recommended to hold honours entry test for ‘Gha’ or ‘D Unit’ — under the social science faculty — only for 2021-2022 academic year.
The recommendation came at a meeting today with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof M Akhtaruzzaman in the chair, said Prof Zia Rahman, dean of Social Science faculty.
The DU authorities on February 7 decided not to hold any first-year honours admission test for ‘Gha’ unit to reduce the burden of entrance exams on the students.
