A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered police to confiscation all movable and immovable property of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court passed the order on Thursday.

It also asked the officer -in-charge of Cantonment Police Station to submit the progress report on the implementation of the order by January 19.
ACC court inspector Aminul Islam confirmed the matter to the media.
Earlier, on November 1 last year, the same court had issued arrest warrants against the duo after accepting the charges brought against them.
The ACC filed the case against Tarique Rahman, Zubaida Rahman and his mother-in-law Iqbal Mand Banu with Kafrul Police Station in the capital on September 26, 2007, for allegedly amassing assets worth Tk 4.82 crore through illegal means and concealing the information of Tk 2.16 crore in their wealth statements. The investigation officer of the case pressed charges against the trio with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, Dhaka, on March 31, 2009. Tarique and Zubaida have been in London since 2008.
Earlier, Tarique was sentenced to life in jail in the August 21 grenade attack cases. He was also sentenced on different terms of punishment in two other cases, including the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
