The man opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Wednesday has announced countrywide road-rail-waterway blockade for December 24 and three-day mass campaign across Bangladesh amid their non-cooperation movement.
The party announced the fresh agitation programme demanding the resignation of the Awami League government, dissolving the parliament and the restoration of the non-party caretaker government system.
The announcement came hours after the party announced a non-cooperation movement against the government.
In a statement sent to media Wednesday afternoon, the BNP said that the party will hold mass contact on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in favour of the election boycott and non-cooperation movement.
BNP and other opposition parties agitating on the streets have been holding continuous strikes and blockades since the police and ruling Awami League attack on the BNP organised grant rally in front of the party’s Naya Paltan central office in Dhaka on October 28.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has announced the schedule of the 12th parliamentary elections of the country on November 15.
According to the announced schedule, the next general election in the country is scheduled to be held on January 7.
