Innocent Awami League men are welcome to join BNP, said Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, standing committee member of the party, offering political space to the disadvantaged Awami Leaguers.
“Awami League men who did not obstruct BNP’s activities, but even helped indirectly over the past 15 years, can be members of our party if they want,” he said while addressing a programme in Chattogram on Saturday.
He said that they have to make the country’s majority percent of people, except socially unacceptable groups, corrupts and extortionists, members of their party.
While distributing the party’s membership forms among the people in his electoral area, the BNP policy maker also said his party’s leaders and activities have been on the run over the past 15 years, as they were implicated in politically motivated cases.
Now the organisational activities of the party must be strengthened ahead of the national election, he said.
